Terms

 

By filling out our rental contract form, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions

General

  1. The rented bicycles and equipment are owned by bikerentalaarhus.dk.

  2. The bikes come equipped with a fixed lock, an additional chain lock, lights, kickstand, and phone holders. All e-bikes are equipped with a GPS tracker.

  3. The renter may not make the rented bicycle available to third parties.

  4. Photo ID must be presented on the day of rental (no exceptions). Acceptable forms of ID are a driver’s license or passport. Proof of address is also required.

  5. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult during the rental period.

  6. Bikerentalaarhus reserves the right to refuse rental if the client is deemed unreliable.

  7. If the rented bike is returned after the agreed deadline, an additional fee will be charged for the extended rental period according to our price list.

Deposit and Payment

  1. A cash deposit is required by bikerentalaarhus.dk as follows:

    1. 1,500 DKK per e-bike

    2. 500 DKK per charger

    3. 500 DKK per children’s bike

  2. The deposit will be fully refunded upon return of the equipment in satisfactory condition.

  3. We do not accept card payments (MobilePay, cash, or bank transfer only). You may pay in cash using both DKK and EUR.

  4. We prefer at least the deposit to be paid in cash to avoid inconvenient and costly bank transfers.

  5. If the deposit is paid by bank transfer anyway, all related costs, such as exchange rates and fees, are to be covered by the renter and will be deducted from the deposit upon return.

  6. A non-refundable booking deposit of 20% of the total rental value is required when booking the bikes. This must be paid via bank transfer.

  7. The booking is only valid once bikerentalaarhus has received the booking deposit.

  8. In the event of cancellation (regardless of reason), bikerentalaarhus retains the paid booking deposit.

  9. If the rental proceeds as planned, the booking deposit will of course be deducted from the total rental price.

Damage and Theft

  1. The person signing the rental contract will be financially responsible for any loss or damage to the rented equipment and fully understands these terms and conditions.

  2. Any damage to the bike or equipment must be paid for. This includes bent wheels, significant scratches, dents, or breakages of any component that requires replacement for the bike to function. We only charge the cost of parts and not labor.

  3. The renter is responsible for the bike’s security. It is the renter’s duty to ensure the bike is in good condition before the rental takes place. This includes brakes, handlebars, tires, and drivetrain (including pedals). Any issues must be reported immediately.

  4. The renter agrees to replace the bike in case of theft.

  5. The bike and all other rented equipment must be returned in proper and intact condition within the agreed return period.

  6. In the event of an accident, the renter must provide bikerentalaarhus.dk with a detailed written report, accompanied by a sketch.

  7. In case of theft, the renter must immediately notify bikerentalaarhus.dk and is responsible for the full replacement cost.

  8. Bikes must be secured to fixed objects and stored indoors overnight. Insurance becomes void if bikes are left outside overnight.

  9. Theft insurance can be purchased: 200 DKK per children’s bike, 400 DKK per e-bike. With insurance, liability is reduced to 10% of the replacement value, but the incident must still be reported to the police.

Operational Issues

  1. In case of emergency requiring repair, bikerentalaarhus must be contacted beforehand to assign a partner. Contact: +45 26 78 83 63

  2. If problems arise (e.g., flat tires, drivetrain, electric issues) and the renter does not have operational insurance, the renter covers the cost.

  3. Any part replacements must be approved by bikerentalaarhus.dk in advance via email and phone.

  4. There will be no reimbursement for any time where the bike does not work properly in case of but not limited to: flat tires, crashes, drivetrain issues, broken cabels, vandalism and gear issues.

Liability

  1. The renter is responsible for damage beyond normal wear and tear and for lost accessories. Replacement costs include:

    1.  Lost children’s bike key: 100 DKK

    2. Lost e-bike key: 250 DKK

    3. Lost chain lock key: 100 DKK

    4. Lost phone holder: 100 DKK

    5. Lost charger: 500 DKK

    6. Lost battery: 4,500 DKK

    7. Lost helmet: 300 DKK

    8. Lost bike bags: 400 DKK

    9. Lost e-bike display: 1,500 DKK

  2. Repairs must be carried out by bikerentalaarhus.dk. 

  3. Any transportation costs incurred are not covered, except for bikes that can be repaired using included spare parts and if the renter has the necessary knowledge.

  4. The renter waives all claims against bikerentalaarhus.dk for accidents, injuries, or personal harm arising during the use of the rented bike. The renter is fully liable for all related claims.

  5. The renter is fully responsible for any damage from the moment the bike is rented until it is returned.

  6. Bikerentalaarhus.dk is not liable for hidden defects in the rented bikes and/or equipment.

  7. Bikerentalaarhus.dk is not liable for damage caused by unpredictable terrain such as – but not limited to: varying inclines, ice, mud, potholes, gravel, narrow trails, negligence from other road users, people, or vehicles.

  8. As a renter, you understand that any cycling activity involves a degree of risk. Any person using bikerentalaarhus.dk’s equipment does so at their own risk. Bikerentalaarhus.dk accepts no responsibility for personal injury, loss, or damage to property, including damage or staining of clothing during the rental period.

  9. The renter is fully responsible for any accident, injury, or death. This includes, but is not limited to: damage to clothing and equipment, causing harm to oneself and/or others, including collisions and loss of control, which may result in death, paralysis, head injuries, limb injuries, cuts, bruises, collisions with trees, cars, bushes, signs, and other obstacles.

  10. By signing, the renter declares they are in good health and that their eyesight meets the requirements for a driving test. They also declare that they do not suffer from any medical condition or disability that could be expected to affect their normal control of the bicycle.

Jurisdiction

  1. For all disputes arising from or in connection with the use of our services, Aarhus is agreed as the exclusive place of jurisdiction.
