Terms

By filling out our rental contract form, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions:

  1. The rented bicycles and equipment are owned by bikerentalaarhus.dk. 
  2. The bikes are equipped with a fixed lock, an additional chain lock, lights, kickstands and phone holders. All e-bikes are equipped with a GPS tracker. 
  3. The renter must not make the rented bike available to third parties. 
  4. Photo ID must be provided on the day of rental (no exceptions). Accepted forms of ID are driving licenses or passports. Additionally, proof of address must be provided. 
  5. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult during the rental period.
  6. A cash deposit of: – 1,500 DKK per e-bike – 500 DKK per charger – 500 DKK per childrens bike is required by bikerentalaarhus.dk. The deposit will be fully refunded upon return of the equipment in satisfying condition. 
  7. In the event that the rented bike is returned after the agreed deadline, an extra fee will be charged for the extended rental period according to our price list. 
  8. The person signing the rental contract will be financially responsible for any loss or damage to the rented equipment and is fully aware of these terms and conditions. 
  9. Any damage to the bike and equipment must be paid for. This includes bent wheels, significant scratches, dents, or breakage of any component that requires replacement for the bike to function. We only charge for the cost of parts and do not charge extra for labor. 
  10. The renter is responsible for the security of the bike. It is the renter’s duty to ensure that the bike is in good condition before the rental takes place. This includes brakes, steering, tires, and drivetrain, including pedals. If any issues are noticed, they must be reported immediately, and another bike will be issued (if possible). 
  11. The renter agrees to replace the rented bike in case of theft. 
  12. The bike and all other rented equipment must be returned in proper and undamaged condition within the agreed return period. 
  13. In case of an accident, the renter must provide bikerentalaarhus.dk with a detailed written report, accompanied by a sketch. The accident report must include the names and addresses of all involved persons, including witnesses, as well as the registration numbers of any vehicles. 
  14. In the event of theft of the bike/rented accessories, the renter must notify bikerentalaarhus.dk immediately. The renter will be responsible for the full cost of replacing the bike and/or rented accessories at the time of theft. 
    1. The renter undertakes to treat the rental item carefully and to protect it against theft. The bicycles must be secured to solid objects when locking. If you rent the bikes overnight, they must be stored in a locked room. Any theft insurance you may have taken out will expire if the bikes are left outside overnight. The renter undertakes to immediately report any theft of the rental item or an accident with other road users to the police and to inform bikerentalaarhus.dk. The renter must submit the police report and the damage report to bikerentalaarhus.dk. In the event of theft, the new price must be paid: e-bike €3,500 / children’s bike €650. Theft insurance can be taken out for 200 DKK per childrens bike and 400 DKK pr. e-bike . If you take out this insurance, in the event of theft, your own contribution drops to 10% of the new price. Even if you take out insurance, you must report it to the police. 
    2. Liability The renter is liable for damage that goes beyond normal wear and tear as well as the loss of accessories (loss of Childrens bike key = 100 DKK, loss of E-Bike key = 250 DKK, loss of key to extra chain lock = 100 DKK, loss of mobile phone holder = 100 DKK, loss of charger to e-bike = 500 DKK, loss of battery to e-bike = 4.500 DKK, loss of helmets = 300 DKK, loss of carrier bags = 250 DKK) in the amount of the repair costs or in the case of major damage, the amount is the same as the new store price. Repairs to the rental item are carried out exclusively by bikerentalaarhus.dk. If the tires are flat, the renter must contact bikerentalaarhus.dk, and the rental bike must be returned to bikerentalaarhus.dk. – Any transport costs that may arise will not be covered. The exception to this is bicycles, which can be changed yourself using the replacement tubes provided if you have the necessary knowledge. 
  15. The renter waives claims against bikerentalaarhus.dk for accidents, damages, or injuries incurred during the use of the rented bike, making the renter liable for all related claims. 
  16. The renter is fully responsible for any and all damages that may occur from the moment the bike is rented until its return. 
  17. bikerentalaarhus.dk is not responsible for any hidden defects in the rented bikes and/or equipment. 
  18. There will be no reimbursement for any time where the bike does not work properly in case of but not limited to: flat tires, crashes, drivetrain issues, broken cables, vandalism and gear issues. 
  19. bikerentalaarhus.dk reserves the right to refuse to rent a bike if the client is deemed unreliable. 
  20. bikerentalaarhus.dk cannot be held responsible for damages resulting from unpredictable terrain such as – but not limited to: varying gradients, ice, mud, potholes, gravel, narrow paths, negligence by other road users, individuals or vehicles. 
  21. As a renter, you understand that any activity on a bike involves an element of risk. Any person using bikerentalaarhus.dk equipment does so at their own risk. bikerentalaarhus.dk accepts no responsibility for personal injury, loss, or damage to property, including damage/soiling to clothing during the rental period. The renter is fully responsible for any accident, personal injury, or death. This includes but is not limited to: damage to clothing and equipment, causing any harm to yourself and/or harm to others, including crashes and loss of control, which may result in death, paralysis, head injuries, leg injuries, arm injuries, cuts, bruises, collisions with trees, cars, bushes, signs and other obstacles. 
  22. The renter declares by their signature that they are in good health, and their vision meets the standard required for a driving test. They also declare that they do not suffer from any medical condition or disability that could be expected to affect normal control of the bike. 
  23. Place of jurisdiction For all disputes arising from or in connection with the use of our services, Aarhus is agreed to be the exclusive place of jurisdiction.
